What did they do to the harpoon?

Did they patch out the harpoon launcher on purpose? Was it an accident? Is there a mod that fixes it? The rope snaps at like half the instance it used to, and when you're sliding along the ground, you stop at the stairs... Ugh it didn't hurt anybody, why is it gone?

Very likely that they felt the "rubber band effect" was affecting the usage it was actually meant for.

If fixing an unwanted game mechanic "worries you", and you think they should keep whimsical "side fun that gets you killed 99% of the time" then your priorities are messed up.

It was 100% still useable. All the balance they needed to do was add stamina use for dragging. They didn't need to do the rest of the crap that got rid of the Launch glitch.

They FIXED something that had a "glitch". Who cares if you thought it was fun or not.... It had an UNWANTED side effect and they fixed it... Get over it and move on.

I mean, it's a game. Its primary purpose is to be fun, right? Parrying arrows staggering the archer is another glitch that they explicitly didn't fix because it was fun.

Did anyone try to get airborne while dragging a cart?

Too many Sea Serpent moats? Too many towers with monster rooms? They want to promote team work? Albiet in a negative way, instead of increasing the drops and rare drop chances they nerfed weapons? They don't like you?

Makes me worried about the direction the developers are taking. It didn't break the game, it didn't ruin anybody's fun, it just added something silly to do. It resulted in death 99% of the time, so who cares? I'm worried it's just another case of a developer saying "yOu'rE NoT PlAyInG ThE GaMe iN ThE WaY We wAnT YoU To." It's becoming way too common these days.

I flattened out a huge stretch of beach... populated it with 2 star wolves, I harpoon and drag serpents on to it and let the wolves kill them. I have a giant iron pole lined with serpent trophies and chest full of scales.

Unclear. Seems like they didn't like the Viking Space Program videos.

They did change the harpoon in some ways but the distance and line thing is from H&H and reduced stamina overall. Line will snap when you run out of stamina.
