Mod was the culprit. Needed to make an armor bench in order to make the deer cape. Thanks all for feedback.

If you don't have all items needed it will be lower down in the list and greyed out. To the point that you might have to scroll down the list to see it. If you have all required items to make it, then it is near the top. Maybe this is what is going on?

Pretty sure all one needs to make the leather armour is workbench level 1. Each upgrade requires and upgrade of ones workbench to the corresponding upgrade ie: upgrade to lv 2 requires a lv 2 workbench e&c.

Even without the materials needed, the recipe should be showing up in your list. Let us know how it turns out.

Well since H&H allowed troll set to be upgraded to level 3 at a level 4 workbench (that's the hioghest without obsidian) it can now reach 33 armor (up from 26) while Bronze level 3 (can't reach 4 without going to swamp) is only 39, there is now really no reason to use bronze anymore, especially given that armor starts to have diminishing returns after reaching half of the reaceived damage. I suppose it can be somewhat useful against ♥♥♥♥ and starred dragur but that 6 armor is hardly worth the trouble.
It's not that the bronze is weak but rather the troll is too strong.

Even before H&H the amount of time to acquire bronze armor vs the benefits never was worth it. My second playthrough was much more pleasant after realizing that fact.

When I start out anew as a humble viking servant of Odin in the 10th realm of the afterlife I have my creature comforts. I like to go out to my first copper node and fence it off, then I like to dig the entire thing out, then I like to put a fire and some chest underneath along with a workbench.

It's fun.

Interesting situation. Personally I feel leather armor is just a waste of resources in the early game. Maybe its a blessing in disguise forcing you to go troll(preferred) or bronze(another waste IMO).

if one knows how to kill deers easily , plenty of deer skins will comes , really i dont know why their IA is some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ now , long ago was a pain that almost predicts your shots , now deer almost comes to you to die lol
