Hosting on my PC and playing on Steam Deck question

Hello. I was running the dedicated server on my PC but wanted to play on my Steam Deck, but when trying to launch from my Steam Deck, it logs me out of Steam on my PC. Is there a way to prevent this behaviour?

For people who have run servers before it is pretty simple.

Install SteamCMD. Link is here: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD#Downloading_SteamCMD

Then modify the batch file to install the server for the given game (by steam ID). The command for anon login is:
login anonymous

It seems daunting at first, but it isn't.

Read the Wiki: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD

Install servers.

Profit.

Oh, I run dedicated servers all the time, so I am indeed familiar with it. My comment was that it is a bit more complicated than the other person made it to be.

Are you sure you're running a dedicated server on your PC? Most likely you're trying to share a local server, in which case that's probably normal behavior (although I've never done it before).

A dedicated server generally runs on a dedicated machine or VM/docker.

Yes, I'm running the dedicated server on my PC. But I installed it from Steam since it was the fastest way to get it started for my friends and I. As for the other reply, I can try putting Steam in offline mode to get around that, thanks!
