Steam "Valheim Dedicated Server" gone? few questions as well
I'm reading some post on the internet how to host your own dedicated server for Valheim. They area leading me to download the server feature off of steam as if it was a "second game" in my library called "Valheim Dedicated Server" ....i don't see that at all....that feature is gone? (of course i wouldn't want to open steam on a dedicated server as i don't want my account logged in)
I do see other options out there with docker and github....though
Was wondering as well how the game was progressing while the server is running on its own?....i've tested the game yesterday and day 2 came pretty fast... was it an hour?.... so if i just have it host over there and we plays 5 days later, the game would have progressed 120 days??
Wondering as well how does the difficulty changes if there are 5 players in the game at the same time while at some other time there just might only be 1 person?
Was thinking of probably hosting my private server in Azure....will see

The server only progresses so long as a person is logged in.
As far as i am aware the "persistent world" mods for servers aren't worth even bricking your game over because so far, that's all they seem to do.
In regards to difficulty, it actually comes from how many bosses have been defeated on the server, not how many people are on... among some other details (like serpent spawn etc)
Keep in mind too, each boss defeated creates a new wave from the future boss that not only you but new people will have to defend against.
This means, you could have a fresh spawn on your server that gets attacked by the "swamp" in meadows because you and your friends have defeated the Angry Angry Ent.

To quickly tac-onto the last post about players vs difficulty...
Serpent Spawns quite a distance away from people at night or in storms (day/night) and will hang in that area until they are removed. So if you have an active server with fast ships, expect more and more serpents than a solo player lol
So that is i suppose one way i know of that having a high number of players (esp independent ones) will increase difficulty without knowing. But i am pretty sure that is it outside of the bosses.

server isn't game
server is tool
you probably set your library to hide tools thus it hided server
(in my language tools are translated as "programms", no idea how it's in other languages)
