Modders have produced more content in a month than the dev's produced after almost a year.
170mb update is really disappointing. All the excitement I had to play the game is gone. There just wasn't enough content added to justify all this time waiting. You guys have made so much money off all the millions of purchases of this game.

yea this new update is pretty much a mod pack. Most of the "contents" have already been made by the modding community.

You'd be surprise where that money goes and how much actually reaches Iron Gates.

you dont think they worked on the back end of the system? like net code and pipelining? or any number of other things that a mod community wouldnt need to worry about?

And doesn't matter anyhow, as people who think that there is a linear correlation between cash influx and ability to produce content doesn't really understand development.

You know, I get that. But just reading the patch notes, there really wasn't anything of substance added. Everything has already been modded. I understand games take long time to develop, but this is just sloppy. They have the made money needed to hire a bigger team to work on the game.

how is this a relevant argument? you dont think they worked on the back end of the system? like net code and pipelining? or any number of other things that a mod community wouldnt need to worry about?
who cares about mysterious, supposed "back end of the system & net code & pipelining" changes if all people want is content and mods give that content much faster than the devs? you probably don't even know what you're even talking about, just heard the words somewhere and now you're throwing these buzzwords around to make something sound significant. please, try to not make yourself look so pathetic next time and think before you produce mental vomit on someone else's screen.
explain in detail what supposed back end , "net code" and "pipelining" changes they've made that are perceivable and relevant to the player, otherwise be quiet and think about what you've just said.

Imagine comparing dozens of modders who have the entire game developed for them before building on it to the devs that built the entire game, save for the engine.
You should delete valheim and try playing with just the mods. Let us know how it goes.

I mean… yeah, that’s how things are for virtually every game where modding is possible. I can’t think of any game where this isn’t the case.
An army of modders will always outperform core devs in terms of quantity, as they have the advantage of numbers and also not needing to closely adhere to quality/balance/code quality requirements.

I don't get how a new biome or a new monster with these low def graphics is such a challenge that it takes 18 months to get there (as it appears we'll get that next summer at earliest)....
if the company only has 3 coders, maybe hire 3 more??? the game made so much money, it's ridiculous. they should be able to afford more staff
