Love this game so much, but why does it take so long for updates.
So I've been playing this game since start and its fun. Honestly I would donate to speed up the making of the game. But waiting so long for more updates and watching modders add more to this game and make it better than the developers have. It makes me wonder what the game developers are doing all day. Is there only one person making this game?

^ two thumbs up!!!!!!! The OP should go back under the bridge ( or this game, their cave.) The game was released into early access on February 2, 2021. With the 0.214.2 patch released on the 13th of March of this year there have been 40 updates. Not a bad pace for a team that started off with 5 people on it.

Satisfactory is on a completely different level. Compared to Satisfactory Valheim is the work of dilletants. who just had luck and gained popularity. Satisfactory from their production team.
Satisfactory is incredibly well done and the updates are more frequent and much more beefy.
On the contrary: Almost two years for Mistllands is a warning sign to me given how simple and crude this game is done. It shouldn´t take this long to develop anything.

Coffee Stain Studios is a -little- bit bigger a developer, and more experienced at that (pretty sure Valheim is IGS' first game as a company). I'm hardly shocked that Satisfactory might update on a quicker pace as such.

*Sigh* funny you don't see actual accomplished developers or even modders for that matter commenting on development time. It only seems to be end users that don't know how creation works that make development time critiques.
This is my most played game of all time at the moment and it's early access, it's a tonne better than some finished games. I really wouldn't care if they came out tomorrow and said they're stopping development and aren't finishing it, i'd still play this again and again.

Funny that you seem to realize who is and isn't a developer or modder. *Sigh* funny you don't see actual accomplished developers or even modders for that matter commenting on development time.

I fully agree, updates take years and I am curious if first released game will be Valheim or Star Citizen. Hard to tell so far..

yeah you right, i had ghost ship confused.
That's Ghost Ship Games. Valheim (Iron Gate) and DRG (Ghost Ship Games) share a publisher in Coffee Stain, but not the same devs.
there's only 5 people in iron gate supposedly, either way im still thinking they are doing way better with how they update than other companies.
all of coffee stains games are bangers.
These things I do agree on. Well, as far as my experience goes anyway - which is DRG, Valheim and Songs of Conquest from Coffee Stain's publishing division, and hearing a lot of good things about Satisfactory from their production team.

You could always apply to and add you expertise about EA game development and hurry it along. thanks for letting me know, I didnt know they had other games. Dont get me wrong I love the game. I just didnt know why it takes so long to add big content like mist lands took a long time to come out and im worried ill have to wait that long for ash lands and the other areas. I dont even think they are done with mist lands cause you cant lvl all the stuff up and it feeling incomplete.

Truth is they are going so slowly that they will eventually say they ran out of money and either abandon the game or try to charge for the final biomes. imo

You bought an Early Access game - a game that is playable at the time of it's release, knowing that it is still being developed. You did not pre-purchase a completed game. (Which means, yes, they are within their right to charge for the following biomes if they want to.)
The devs have said they are working at their own pace, which is their prerogative. It'll be finished when it's finished, basically. Keep up with the regular updates that they post to stay abreast of changes and new stuff.

iron gate is the same people who made deep rock so they're kinda busy doing more than just valheim.
also, they're one of the better development companies that actually deliver on their promises, despite them sometimes being late they actually do work on making the game the way us players desire it to be.
in short, the wait is totally worth it.
i think it's better than having an update every month that breaks game features because when they actually update they ADD features, not break them.
good things come to those who wait.
