Swamp is the best place to live!
Treehouses on a big indestructible trees are totally raidproof. Calm waters good for docking. Abomination spawns near your base works as guard points against fulings and trolls. Try this strat, guys.

let's not forget the leeches attacking your boat.Leeches won't attack your boat unless they see player on a boat. They will ignore empty longships.

Awesome work guys! I just finished my swamp base in a tree near the Bonemass spawn point. It's cool, but not as cool as those!

i set up a camp in the swamp over a stone dungeon entrance. once you clear the area it's nice.

There are more cons and pros from living in the swamp
Turnip are the only thing that grows there , and draugr archers and wraiths in the night will be some annoy IMO
I preffer a plains micro island to make all you need
