Yes, I had installed mods on my earlier install, and they didn't work well, so I thought I had taken them out. When I physically looked into the folders, they were still there, so I deleted all the mod folders and all is working well now. Thank You for confirming, though!

I just began about 45 minutes ago, this time was very slow logging in, for me. Thought I would share that.

Follow the next steps EXACTLY, even if you think you've done it already. Trust me.

1. Uninstall the game through Steam.
2. Go here:
... and delete the folder "Valheim", if present.
3. Reinstall the game.
4. Profit?

yeah, you have/had a mod that is now broken or needs updating. delete your entire valheim folder like electricdawn said.

Having same issue. Game wont start at all. Ive reinstalled as of today and restarted comp to just test. I get this little window of a V symbol and an exclamation point '!' in a red cell. A loading bar quickly appears and appear below it then I can click Play again in steam. Something is def up.

Either of you using mods?

maybe search around and find that theres 100s of these posts already, disable/update ur mods

Same thing, it pops up a lil white window with a Red ! next to the valheim logo then closes. I DO NOT use any mods ever, it's just the standard game and was perfectly fine up until this event update.

uninstalling, deleting steamapp valheim folder, reinstalling and verifying files might work
