If the .old files and whatever you rescued from the cloud are no use, pretty much yeah. It's a reasonable time to use devcommands and spawn yourself in a replacement starter kit. Above all else I wish they'd update with a proper in-game backup system and not rely on Steam. Lost saves have bounced so many people off the game.

True that would be a lifesaver, I have no intention of quitting, I didn’t know commands were a thing in this game, you said give myself a starter kit? I respawned at default with my Bronze gear but have no resources/teleporters/chests, my map is the same and tells me there is a bed in a open field where my house was but no bed

Is it possible to have a creative mode type thing where I could rebuild what I lost and replace the items? And would that interfere with me having a friend join my server or progress being messed up? I don’t really wanna use cheats because I enjoy the progression but I also don’t wanna run for copper and cores for another 18 hours

As Mharr will point out, you can go to: https://steamcommunity.com/app/892970/discussions/1/4594236462791998675/

and press CTRL F to find Valheim, then download the files. Rename them and stick them here: C:\Users\me\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds

This is on the notion you're using Steam Cloud. If you do manage to retrieve your save, make sure to turn off Steam Cloud afterwards. Back-up your game world every now and then.
