MAGIC
id like to see some magic implemented into the game like
blood magic - you could cut yourself and get into rage state with more damage for a short time,
rune magic - basically different buffs and debuffs for enemies,
pathfinding - you can see enemies with a red outline or locate dungeons when you are near,
but most i like to summon creatures...so necromantic would be the coolest part..
imagine you could build a lab and gather different enemy parts like the dwarf eyes and wolf flesh and antlers and can produce different types of diced together spawn bags which you can drop on the ground and they spawn a little helper. (not too much HP but not that it dies too quickly) you could have a tank with more HP but less dmg, a bowman supporting you, etc...
i play mostly alone...my friends mostly play other games so it would be nice to have a little compagnion :'(

Thread illustrates that if you have magic you have to leave hint sits thier earlier in progression...
Personally don't think the game needs it. But as its in happy to have a play about.
Now if their was a 1% chance of discovering a Fire staff or something in the Black forest Burial crypts then your talking. Don't get me wrong don't give us means to repair said relic, sharply limit the ability to gain Mana/Etyr to power it yes and yes.
But a spoiler like that however rare would peak interest and give those that really want it more reason to progress in game

Pull the handle on the obliterator after you put some stuff in it......boss summoning // sacrifice serve two different meanings here Obliterator and boss summoning cover your first issue.
All the NPCS are targets or tameables with only a couple notable exceptions since you are essentially in Viking purgatory. Anyone else you meet is in the same (pardon the pun) boat as you.
As for the last the fermenter and some of its very wild ingredients cover your 3rd issue. Healing, stamina, and all the resistance meads cover substances and medicine.
The other reason its not the raw experience you want is the ESRB.

I hate pathfinders, but to be fair, this is tied to bad implementations where it does not path it so much as point to it and let you figure out the actual route.

They kind of did something similar with the new baits in fishing. I could see some interesting things with pathfinding. like use a trophy of something you want to hunt in a recipe to make something to be able to 'smell' that creature for a time. could even use the wind mechanics to muddle the scent.

Pathfinding - would probably defeat efforts of exploring on your own, it wouldn't be worth spending inventory slots for anyway. Vegvisir already exist to assist with navigation.

already exists, with summons and buffsi havent seen rune magic being expressed in the game with any of the different meanings / functions behind the runes Blood magic -

We're also being guided plenty by Hugin, im not a fan of handholding in videogames personally and hopefully it doesnt go any further than this in the future except for leaving hints and clues from the gods
