I had my 1* pigs killed but I only had two of them

Then the game gifted me 2* pigs. Two of them. Found then like 5 mins later whilst cutting trees

So now on my friends server, we now have like 30 2*

Sometimes, the game realizes you got screwed over and it'll toss you a bone

Sound like you need some basic defense. Wooden pole fence just slow done mobs. Now earth walls that are high enough can protect animals and plants.

Dig a ditch with steep walls around your base. Farm animals do get targeted in raids. Later on your piggies will need a full enclosure and roof. Wait till you Stir the Cauldron and see what the bats do to your farm. I don't know why you thought this was fixed.
