Who thought it was a good idea?
To make 1 copper node 10 weight?
You get 15 bronze from a full stack of copper. Your starting weight is 300 but you can get an upgrade from some trader.
Okay.
But for that you need to sail to more dangerous lands and different islands.
Okay.
OR I saw a comment stating that you can build bases next to node ores or make your base close to these nodes
Okay.
If you build a base in the black forest you risk getting attacked by trolls/ skeletons / greydwarfs / shamans / brutes etc etc.
Not to mention the elder can raid said base
"But rex just make it a temporary base to smelt them at"
Right so you want me to waste time building a ♥♥♥♥ shack next to a NON-RESPAWNING ONE-TIME NODES just to smelt the bars, and after you smelt them what then? You still have to HAUL them back to your base painfully even if it's in the black forest.
Instead of people excusing the game how about people realize that in order for a game to be good you don't need mods, cheats or any sort of niche things just to fix one thing which can easily be repaired if the devs change the value from 10 weight per copper node to 5
Doesn't it make sense?????

i dunno - most of the ore nodes are close to each other so no need to build a whole smelter right next to it
and even if one does that, one could build a crafting table right next to it and process the ingots right there.
but still - no matter how much weight an ingot has
one will move back and forth to the base no matter if one has ingots or not
option are
beeing more flexible (nobody forces one to have a main base 10km away)
using the ways of transportation the game has to offer (carts boats)
or gather and process all ore deposits in a larger area and then make some larger hauls back to base
imho making the ingots lighter would only mean one can pack more ingots but mostly it would stay the way it allready is
as people tend to have "the master base" which means they will hurl all sorts of stuff there no matter if that stuff is needed there or not
i might add - one will get attacked/raided by trolls and greydwarfs no matter where the mainbase is
my 2 cents here
can i get a hand full of popcorn?

It's a good thing you don't need to carry home a full stack of copper to smelt one piece of equipment then. Most things start off asking for 8 bronze. You can carry 16 copper ore (not nodes, nodes are the big rocks they come out of) at a weight of 160, right? That already is about half of your carry weight.

Valid but I can only build a raft and not a cart, I don't even have the cart unlocked so I can't haul anything with it. I just think that the game is rough around the edges when it comes to farming this bronze stuff.Right so you want me to waste time building a ♥♥♥♥ shack next to a NON-RESPAWNING ONE-TIME NODES just to smelt the bars, and after you smelt them what then? It quickly turns from an actually decent and cool RPG survival game to something like minecraft but a lot... A LOT worse.
Not to mention that mining the copper ore also fills you up with stone, so you waste a minute slamming one chunk of node only to get stones and 0 copper out of it.
I like the game I just think it's execution in terms of ores and bronze stage is sloppy, unfinished and unfun.

dont worry the cart can be achived with ease - start by getting smaller amounts of copper and tin. process them into ingots - process the ingots into bronze and then make some nails
this is all i can write down without spoiling too much
nails are key for the next tier of transportation
but dont pack the cart full of ores - you yould not be able to move it but i can pack a couple of stacks and make things a bit more easy

It's also good to use the Hoe and level out a road. The flatter the road, the more you can pile into the cart. You might also want to consider saving your Eikthyr power to use with the Cart if you have to pull a really heavy load a long ways. It'll help with the Stamina drain so you don't have to stop as often.

The cart is never worth it imo, it gets stuck on everything, and when you fill it up you can't even pull it up the numerous hills in the game.
Best thing I did for bronze age was sail around the coast mining nodes that were not too far inland, dumping the ore in my boat and sailing it back to my coastal base.

Earth work the ground on your route to your mining area into a smooth path, makes the carts not snag. extra work, but thats how the devs like the game.
