Go all the way and move all the resources you have into the one you are using, go for it. It's not like you have unlimited resources.

After my first playthrough I've always gone and bought the belt from the trader for new characters. I like to think about it as a "bonus" for having completed the game once.

Cheater.

the belt becomes a necessity for me, especially when I start mining out the crypts. I hope they add a way to upgrade it or add some other higher tier / increasingly more expensive belts or some other means to increase carrying capacity / inventory slots.

Consider yourself a colonist that comes from the old world discovering a new land. Colonists generally have access to some advanced technology and kit they bring from the homeland (compared to where they have just settled). I see nothing wrong with what you did, as you have spent the time and effort to obtain those tech/items already where you came from.
Wrong timeline, but you are basically Columbus (or the old Norsemen who went to America before him) in America. They did not go there just to start from scratch and had fancy metal gear and all.

You need to do what the devs really want you to do, enjoy the game. There are fools out there that will tell you it’s mortal sin to play any way other than the way they think is best. Ignore them. Enjoy the the game.

Hey if thats the gameplay you enjoy, i dont judge !

1st option:
Browse: https://valheim-map.world/
enter your seed
tick checkbox "Show Trader"
note position (rougly)
play your map and find the trader


2nd option:
actiavte cheats


3rd option:
bring the stuff from another world where the traders location is known


4th option:
keep searching

3rd option is valid imho as one allready moved around to find the trader
just play valheim you see fit with your own set of rules (not cheating or doing all the stuff the old fashioned way) its up to you

set the "gamma correction" in your video driver so the screen is brighter. It gives you really good low light vision in crypts and at night.

Down side is it also makes everything, including other games, brighter so use with caution.
