Eh, it would be good, but a a maxed Bronze Mace will suffice.

It's kinda too slow to be useful IMO. Anything that battleaxes can do, a sword or a mace can do better.

Except be a battle axe

Parry is so effective, it makes 2-handers relatively useless. They're only good against things you don't have to parry, which means weak mobs you can beat any way you want.

All two handed weapons are great for crowd control and are useful in some cases. I made and tried all weapons in single player world and didnt find it very useful except in some events like skeletons attack and you are being hunted. Its a lot easier to play with one handed weapon and a shield.
On the other side, in multiplayer worlds, they are very useful and a must have weapon in team fights when one player tanks and others swing heavy weapons for extra dmg 💪

This, and you can also use it to cleave down trees that are closer together.

+1 Iron Mace also; fully upgraded, its damage is nothing to scoff at.

It's much better after they increased it's speed. It's my favorite weapon and I hope they make more like it.

it's fun in a pine forest with the Elder power running, or any forest where trees are packed together.. or it would be the ideal way to clear beech saplings. good against the new Abomination

no, prioritize axe with every new updgrade because you chop a lot of wood in this game like a lot, and it can also be a weapon

Battleaxe is... odd. It does some high damage but costs a lot of stamina and is also extremely slow. If you already made the sword (which is a slashing weapon anyway) I wouldn't bother.

I'd also probably make an Iron Mace. It's not mandatory, but it will make the Bonemass fight far easier and is also good against nearly everything in the Swamp.

Absolutely not however it definitely helps. Smart play and preparation are key to this game. Learn how to time their attacks and you can go further with lesser weapons and armor. Always eating the best foods available helps as well.
