Disposing old items?

Did they ever add a way of properly ditching your old gear or other junk you don't want or do we still need to go drop it off far away somewhere so it despawns?

You could also just activate devcommands, then drop all items and use removedrops.

What's so "late game" about the Obliterator? Everything necessary to build it becomes available once you've defeated the second of (currently) 6 bosses.

second boss? I made it as soon as I'd killed first boss and could mine metal, I'd already found Haldor and bought the thunderstone prior to killing Eikthyr, cheapest thing in game at only 50 gold.
Why are you making ♥♥♥♥ up? you need iron to make the obliterator lol.

Either use the Obliterator as Suzaku mentioned, or just make a mancave with all the tools and armors you have used.

^ I actually second this. You can make a room or hallway in your base dedicated to your growth as an adventurer. Set up armor stands with your old sets of gear. Line the walls with item stands to hold old weapons and tools. Looks good and keeps them as backups in case something unfortunate happens to you.

Obliterator, some items when destroyed give coal so it's very useful than just tossing random stuff in a hole

On top of the Obliterator, they actually added (mid to late game) options to use things like grey dwarf eyes and bones that keep piling up. For stones it's mostly the Obliterator or build stuff for hours though.

Extremely disappointing my options are a late game item or still tossing them out somewhere. But thank you for answers.
