Say, what are the conditions/trigger for this new event? I have not encountered it yet and have been to the caves and killed bats...

I don't know the conditions but i had already killed Moder when it happened. Also, i had explored at least 5 frost caves.

You mean "Eikthyr Rallies The Creatures of the Forest" Raid (which includes Boars and Necks). Yeah I see "The Cauldron is Stirring" is pretty lame and should be a early raid for not beating Eikthyr for gameplay purpose.

Bats have become my new nemesis of annoyance. I just don't get putting the bats in ice caves. I know the gave isn't based on realism, but they'd freeze in ice caves.

Ideally you need bronze, which is at the end of the first complex progression chain. Or you can use the slowness of trolls to make them mine and lumberjack for you. Also with some effort you can turn a second tier tree into lumber by repeatedly dropping other trees on it.

This event is harmless if you are not near any of your tamed animals but is pretty brutal otherwise. It spawns about 8 bats and the ones that are killed respawn near instantly. They have no player priority targeting. They go for the closest entity with a health pool. All of that combined with the fact that each bat does a hit and run tactic for 20 dmg means that your livestock is doomed if it isn't sealed in a pen. I have lost a group of seven 1-star wolves to this invasion.

It is very similar if you have bee hives near your boar pen. When the raid with archers or dragons starts, they also target whatever but especially bee hives and your bees kills your livestock or most of them (own experience).

Wow, I like the sound of that one though Ive an abundance of blasted leather strips which have zero use later on (must be a future plan). But I like the bats :D
