Mistlands oh boi.

I was so excited to get there for first time without spoiling anything.

Once i got in there i lost my ♥♥♥♥.

The whole navigating is pain in the ass
The Wisp is so useless.
Seriously you spend 90% of the time just searching for the stupid infested mines that just are perfectly hidden in the terrain cuz of the random hills creating canyons so you cant even see them blue lamp posts from far away.

Do you guys feel same or im just unlucky on the generation lol.

im just hella tilted rn.

You have more senses than just your eyes. Use them.

If you hear the chirping of 2+ Seekers, especially in the day time, follow the noise. 80% of the time it's coming from an Infested mine. At night it's far more sketch, because the spawn rate of seekers is so high.

Infested Mines are, by design, more rare than any other dungeon, a large Mistlands landmass may only have 5, smaller may have 0-1. Most will have just 3. They're about as rare as Frost Caves, but easier to find. (In my opinion)

Like Frost Caves, some Infested mines have a very "Signature" rock formation outside, Once you recognize it, you'll be able to spot them by getting above the mists.
I have to disagree with some of this. Chirping from multiple seekers does not lead to an infested mine that frequently, at least in my experience. There's probably an equal chance it's an abandoned dverger camp, but an even higher chance that it's just bad spawning. In most Mistlands biomes I've explored, I've usually found 0-1 infested mines (including with devcommands and flying around). I agree with OP that the search for the mines is frustrating.

I use the "better wisplight mod". Think the default gives you something like 50-100 meter diameter coverage , instead of the 10-20m. Makes it alot easier to find mines

dunno if anyone said but blue lights are on maybe 25% of mines.
there are cave like open ones that usually have a light and a staircase, and there are the ones under towers, no lights and down a spiral staircase inside.

In my experience, most of the mines under towers have lit lights as well. Some are not lit, but most are from what I've seen.

It is tough until you get some items (no spoilers), which makes it much easier (IMO).

My suggestion is to get up high, out of the mist. You're still going to have your view blocked, but you can see much better and it is easier to spot the mines. The diagonal rocks are generally easier to climb and go the highest. You just have to be carful not to fall off!

source criticism is something that we learn at an early age where im from and it doesnt require a lot of brains to work publicly available data on a board designed for rigorous moderation and most people would stop reviewing sources when thousands of hits all say the same things

If this is your take, then you have to find a way to explain away Overwhelmingly Positive recent reviews at a rate of 95% when the most recent update was the Mistlands.

reviews dont necessarily need to be aimed towards mistlands and most people would require weeks to experience their first encounters with the mistlands

again, im not going to spend time humiliating you because you can simply use the search function with over 150 pages on my monitor right now and youve already gone way off the rails in ohio speaking of reviews as a talking point as if it directly is aimed at this subject for no reason at all.

explain what ? your own burden of proof that your absurd assumption that a high ratio pros/vs cons is directly aimed at mistlands after recent discounts ?

i just feel sorry for you at this point and ill leave you to beat yourself over your chest over absolute nonsense for yourself

150 individual threads, even if each thread was 150 individuals (That's 150^2 complaints), doesn't even account for 10% of the amount of people who have played this game. You make a sweeping assertion that "Most" people hate the mistlands based on a fraction like that you set yourself up to be called out.

I don't need proof, we simply apply Occam's razor, your assertion requires far too many assumptions to be true, even if we ignore the reviews altogether.

150 pages is not 150 threads, 150 pages "listing" hits of negatives using KEYWORD MARKERS

jesus dude, i wasted too much time studying to be going back to 5th grade with somoene who dont even know how to use search functions and is completely incapable of reading graphs from an objective standpoint

I've killed the Queen and I'm done with the game till Ashlands.

Some things I'd wish they did a little different with the biome is keep the mist but why, oh why did they also have to make it extremely jagged and steep. I get that they want to sell the Feather Cloak since slowfall is a big deal but the combo of mist + rough terrain is pretty brutal.

The Infested Mine hunt is NOT fun and like you said the rough terrain + mist makes it a nightmare to find them at times. I think the blue dwarf outposts should have a map or something on the walls that will reveal the nearest Infested Mines like those stones do for bosses. Something to make finding them easier...

Let us upgrade the Wisplight with some refined eitr and a black core. This upgraded wisp would clear a lot more mist or even turn the mist more see-through.

Yes! this is seriously the best solution to the problem that I have heard yet. It's totally lore friendly as I see it because the dwarfs WOULD have maps to their own mines, wouldn't they?
I've just started my own trek into the mistlands and I have to say that either the mist OR terrain alone would be enough but both together is a bit brutal. Having maps to the mine locations would go a long way toward easing player frustrations without actually lessening the difficulty too much.
