Red coloured biome?
I found out in map viewer there's a biome that is red colour in the bottom part of the globe. I want to know what biome is and since I'm on the endgame (black metal age), should i give it a shot to the bottom of the globe?

surtlings and meteors with flame metal are in the south, I put a portal down there and farmed some flame metal waiting for the biome to be finished. Thought about using the flat area to build a grand castle but it seems with all the fireballs being thrown it can be a fool's errand.

You can shoot and break up ice chunks floating in the deep north.
North the sun stays very low in the sky and days are shorter, Ashlands has a kind of perpetual daytime going on.
Kind of funny to jump between biomes and watch the sun go up and down.

That makes sense, but we don't know it'll work out in practice. When tar pits were added to the plains in H&H people needed to roll new worlds or use the Upgrade World mod to recreate that area. I certainly wouldn't build anything elaborate in any future biomes. I'm not entirely sure how the generation works in this game, but something tells me they kept the mistlands in so they can populate the biomes in an update later and just add the content to them by re-generating those biomes.

you can hoard flame metal and hope that it will later be used for something, which is more than you can do in the deep north.

Ashlands does have Flametal nodes which you can smelt in the blast furnace. Currently cannot make anything with the bars. They are for a future update.

There are 3 biomes currently in the game that are still being developed. Mistlands, which kind of looks like the black forest on the map, but with darker land, Deep North which looks like mountains on the map, and Ashlands, which is red on the map. There isn't much in these biomes at the moment, other than just being a bit interesting to look at I suppose.

Cool. Should i take a long journey to look for these biomes or wait for the next update?

Wait for them to be added, if you explore them you'll have to generate a new world to have the actual content there. It will be a long time before Deep North and whatever the fire southern biome is call is added. Do the same with Mistlands, since we won't see Mistlands until probably the end of the year with the time it takes for these guys to add a "small update" so they say. There are 3 biomes currently in the game that are still being developed. It's an unfinished Biome like the others. Mistlands will be next....soonish? The only thing you'll find is barren land and the flaming dudes everywhere.

Most likely they're redesigning it. Which is good cause the biome just looked like Swamp 2.0 but this time cold. The way world gen works is that within a certain radius from what you've discovered new content can generate. It's how you can find Tar in your world made before Hearth and Home. It's a little annoying but it works, you don't have to travel that far which is nice.
