questions about the game

Can you recruit AI to stay at your town and help mange it?
Can you create an army?
Is this just another 1 person survival game where its just you against an army of enemy AI's?
If you cant populate lets say a city/town/outpost you created, whats the point of building such things?

it is not "just another".
All others are just another.
This is Valheim! \o/

When you say "it is just another", you assume that being similar it will be boring. It is not, unless you spoiled already the content by looking in advance on internet.

Don't listen to these people. No other game captures the pleasure of running naked in the swamp during night better than Valheim! :)

Can you recruit AI to stay at your town and help mange it?[/i}The game came out in February. If you haven't bothered to look any of this easily-found info up, there's no help for you.

Can you create an army?
The game you're thinking of is TABS. This ain't it.

Is this just another 1 person survival game where its just you against an army of enemy AI's?
Again... The game out in February 2021. Youtube exists. Also, quit being lazy and actually read through this forum.

If you cant populate lets say a city/town/outpost you created, whats the point of building such things?
Creativity. And you can join/run a server for community living goals.

Just to engage for the sake of other readers, the point of building at least a small outpost is that on top of crafting stations and storage space, your home is a central part of the survival mechanics. Resting somewhere warm, dry and well decorated provides a long buff to stamina regeneration for the rest of the day.

No.
Yes, wolves
Sort of, see above.
No way... find another game.

This is primarily a solo game with co-op functions.

I don't know what these people are talking about, you can absolutely recruit allies and make an army. It's called TAMING

it's also called run a dedicated server and have your friends join. But yes, you can have a wolf army at your side, and it's awesome.

No they will not run a shop for you.
Awww, Man!! I wanted my wolves to run my shop, then after closing time they could play poker in the back room around a green felt table just like in that painting on black velvet "Dogs playing Poker" :)

You cant recruit AI, you are a lone Viking in a huge world you need to make yours, your only quest is to kill the forsaken, at your time and leisure... otherwise the time is up to you to use,
No NPC's, no NPCS to recruit... you, the trader and the bird is all ...and only one fights,

It should also be added that while many people including myself prefer to play singleplayer and have a great time doing it, there is a noticeable multi-player/co-op focus.

As for single-player, you end up collecting and using a LOT of stuff in this game, so you need some sort of storage facility. Then there are the crafting stations which are upgraded by placing more add-ons nearby, so you need a lot of space for those. With the new H&H cooking add-ons, you now need a dedicated cooking space. And then there's the comfort level system which requires you to decorate a space with fancy items to increase the duration of your rested bonus (exploring without your rested bonus active is borderline suicidal). So what you end up with is either a huge base or a sprawling estate.
