just use the r2modman launcher you can download mods for small stuff like this which should work anyways

I agree that it makes no sense. It obviously has a model and particles from the item you pick up. Mods enable every vanilla-unmountable item. It can't be any more complicated than a surtling trophy.

I tend to drop items carefully on a table that don't work on item stands, like ancient seeds, cores, and such. As long as a workbench is nearby. they will stay put.

welp, the cube may not work, but there is a similar trophy that many use as a light, that you can get in the swamp and after.

I use the All Items mod as well (one of the few I use) because I like them as night lights too. That said, you can spawn one in on it's own stand like you find in the burial chambers using devcommands if you don't want to use mods. :)

Tried that with debug mode, and it spawn floating in mid-air.

Unused Surtling Core were meant to put in a fire not on a item stand.

As if you wouldn't want it rotated. Probably too hard to code right now. Every thing just has its default position, and a square to the walls cube would be not what I would like. Personallly I would like it as a "X" or a "+" with the point coming out from the wall (and back in towards it), depending on how the light radiates from it, but thats just me.
