This is always my starter base. 4 or 5 buildings, 4x5 or 5x5 foundations. A lot of this is unnecessary extra wood for decoration. Without the decoratives, it's extremely budget and low cost. Chests in one, Crafting in another, Bed in another. Gives a real nice village look while being cheap and staying organised.
This is pre Mistlands but it functions the same now.
