I use:
Time Mod - speed up and slow down time, but what I really use it for is the automatic pause when you escape to menu
Unrestricted Portals - to get around the metal barrier
No Death Penalty - I turned off skill loss, but decided to keep the corpse runs, up to you
Farm Grid - make planting go much faster, with little to no overcrowing (they don't crowd each other, but you can get too close to buildings or rocks)
Dodge on Double Tap - never could get used to the default method

Not sure if you're new or seasoned but standing over what you're mining does more damage. Though mods are great, and there's a lot of good ones.

One suggestion; if you plan on ever playing without mods again, using archery mods will severely effect your vanilla game play lol

I didn't know that.

Just remember, if you're mining on a rock in the water, don't mine a hole under yourself. The one thing I haven't figured out how to do is pull myself out of a hole filled with water.

I would also highly recommend to use Vortex ModManager, makes updating and un- and installing mods very easy

If mining is the only problem you're facing just start a mining world and log off from there and back to your home world with the metal in your inventory. No need for mods if you don't really want em.

Valheim Plus has many good QOL mods, including begin able to teleport with metal ore, but I don't know if it will run on a local game or on a server that doesn't have the mod installed. You might take a look and see.

1) Valheim plus (make sure you edit the config file to your liking as by default it doesnt do much)

2) better archery

3) tripleXbronze

4) if you want something more RPG'ish get Magic Overhaul - it changes the feel of the game a LOT but is a LOAD of fun to mess around with.

For me, as a solo player, I can name these: AnyPortal, ProperPortals, EquipmentAndQuickSlots, SoftcoreDeath, TripleBronze, TruePause, BiggerChests
Some other QOL mods: FarmGrid, PinFilters, AutoRepair, ShowContainerContents, Compass, Clock

Be prepared for altered game experience. But thats what youre asking for, isnt it?;)
