I fought all bosses solo and without any cheesing. I fought them straight on. With proper preparation all bosses are manageable. Ok, you may die during the fight. But that's what portals are for. Again, proper preparation.

This is no game to rush through. If all you care about is boss spanking and fighting, this game is not for you.

The journey is the goal. You explore, you gather resources, you build, you craft, you sow, you harvest. You fight baddies in dungeons and crypts.

You upgrade, you learn new stuff, you expand.

THAT is Valheim. Not a rush to the next boss unprepared and then you get to complain how unplayable it is as a solo character.

Been playing it solo and I just defeated Modor (the mountain zone boss, essentially the 4th stage of the game) without deaths. I think the first boss fight isn't anything special solo but for all the ones after the first, you're going to need to be creative and exploit every tactic available to you. Doable, yes, but not without some unconventional strategies. Mostly I mean modifying the battleground with trenches and earthen towers ahead of time and waiting until you have all the best and upgraded gear currently available to you including food and meads.

Solo is doable. Look at guides when you get stuck. Be very careful about where you decide to land your boat. Don't trust the trees.

Group is more fun for longevity, but it's nice solo for a while. Just know you're going to want to invite others to see the world you built / and / or play with you, as the world feels dead after a while and is mostly definitely more fun to share.

Everything can be done solo, it just takes a lot longer to progress due to the logistical limitations of being entirely alone.
More people means you can transport more carts or boats of materials at once, not to mention more spare inventory space of course. It also streamlines portal management because you don't have to set up both sides of a portal link by yourself.

Enemies get 40% more health and 4% more damage per additional player nearby but again I would reckon solo still has it the toughest in combat. They use their stamina to do all of the baiting/blocking/attacking alone with nobody else to capitalise on those massive stagger bonuses. Fortunately most enemies are pretty crap at chasing you through a procedurally generated world and the couple that aren't happen to be pretty light in the HP department compared to other enemies of their respective biome.

Solo is okay, but the Swamps it becomes very unbalanced and the skill drain will wipe most of your skill progress as dying is inevitable without spending hours and hours preparing for each crypt raid.

Very balanced already for solo play, playing with others is fun too. All bosses are killable solo as well.

Playing in co op will massively increase the health of enemies. Not much of an issue at first, but by the time you reach the swamp it can be a pain in the arse

Why reroll? You can just use your character in a new world.

Coop is way more fun, but solo doable, if you are carefully and preparing for your adventures.

I have no idea about the vulcan question. The main question: YES. You totally can do this game solo all the way through. Lots of people even make there own sandbox rules or add mods to make it even more difficult or easier. Teaming up with a buddy is a blast as well. Most of my time on the game is played solo.

Game is perfectly soloable.

Playing with Vulcan depends, some people reported good FPS gains, I can't reproduce that. Additionally the game will crash eventually after a few hours of gameplay. Something about a memory leak in Vulcan maybe...

I have only ever played solo and yes, it's totally doable with proper preparation. In a way, Valheim is easier in multi because you have more people to take down enemies but now you need twice the food and armor resources so there's that. In solo you need to be cautious when you are still learning the game, and there's a LOT to learn. It's fun as hell tho so play it!
