The thing I try to point out is that it seems super hard to even get 60. You'd be hard pressed to find mountains that have 5 or more caves on them... I've had 2 huge mountains but one only had one cave on it the other only 2. Mountain biomes also are usually smaller then the Swamp or Plains ones in addition.
So yeah, I would not mind the state this is in right now... if those Nightly Werewolves also had even just a chance to drop Fenris hair.

I ran through 3 Caves and destroyed all the wall decorations too. I guess you got to be lucky to find one that is not mainly "cave" and more of that "cellar" looking stone structure... with enough Fenris to kill and decorations to grab.
I already dread thinking about how long it would take to get 135 to fully upgrade it for one player.
At least Trolls kept spawning in my neck while I was mining copper, and Abominations kept running in my way out of/into Swamp Crypts... so even thought it took quite a while to get those sets and fully upgrade them... nothing like what i see here.

Do you need cold gear stats to get into these caves or can I just stumble across one out in the forest

I would say, you do need either a real plentiful cache of Frost resistance mead or better the Wolf/Lox Cape. You will need to run all around in the Mountain biomes... Caves are not that plentiful so you will need to explore Mountains quite allot.

What you need is you need to get one of those special rooms it seems. There is a room that has a sort of "Altar" in the center and one big red jute curtain on the left and one on the right, also in front of those there is a big Fenris hair curtain thing hanging also. Those Fenris hair curtain thing have hair hanging on the bottom that you can interact with "E"... it looks like anywhere between 1 and 5 hair can hang there, I seen a couple 3 and 4 so far. Once those are taken off, you can destroy the top part for more hair also.
And don't forget to destroy any and all red jute curtains... they seemingly have a chance to drop Red jute, the 2 big ones in that special room can drop 2.

You should also loot the ones hanging on the walls. And you can destroy the decorations to get more. I don't think I've found any caves with 14 or less.

Cave I found had 6 hairs total. Killed maybe 10 wolf guys and 2 cultist. Destroyed all the wall hangings I saw. I guess I could have missed some but idts. Got 4 jute also. Seemed kind of low compared to how much metal you get from a swamp dungeon.

Maybe someone can post screen shots of all hair sources.

you must be missing some mate.. are you destroying all the hanging hair tapestry things.. i have wolf hair coming out of my anyway i like to use a sledge hammer

After seeing your description I recognized the location you described and went back and got 10 more hair bringing the total to 16 which is definitely better. Thanks for the help.

Agreed. Like Surtling Cores coming from both dungeons and outside enemy spawns.

Also you need a bit of luck with the cave size. In the first one I went I got 40 hair. In total I've found 3 caves, was enough to build the whole set lvl 1

I don‘t need the fenrir armor set, once i have enough i may craft it an hang it on an armor stand just for decoration (like the wood armor set).
Although the wolverine claws are kinda cool, i made them today and had a little fun with my greydwarf friends :)

Same issue here, i thought i just had bad luck with RNG, found a cave, picked it clean : 1 claw, 4 furs and not a single piece of jute, didn't even see a signle cultist. Out of frusration, decided to hit every single wall to look for hidden passages, be it in the cave part or "cellar" part. Nothing
At this rate, i won't have enough moutain biomes on my map to do anything.

I was hyped about all that "Cult of the wolf" upgrade, but seing the amount of content i'd call it the "Hole in the ground" patch

One small cave and one large gave 55 and 8 claws total.
