I know what you're thinking. You're wrong and I'll tell you why:

Ulf doesn't care about looking like a badass. Ulf doesn't care about making sure history gets his good side. Ulf tells us how it is because Ulf knows, deep down, he's the Viking of Light. He is the Chosen One. He is the Man, the Myth, the Legend™ and he will tell you, straight up, as it happened, about the time he watched a drake take a dump.

Ulf has quite literally seen some ♥♥♥♥, and he is man enough that he doesn't need to whitewash or gloss over it. Ulf "failed" in a lot of places (go read the runestones if you want to know more), but he cannot truly fail or be broken.

He is Ulf, the Viking's Viking's Viking. His place in Valhalla is ensured. We should be honored to count him among our kind.
