Previous Save.

Please tell me that there is an option to load a previous save. I left my character on for a few minutes to go downstairs and when I came back I was at the center of the world (where you initially spawn) and saw that the map said "the ground is shaking." So I ran back and saw three trolls demolishing my build which took me hours to do. I am not even that close to the Black Forest either. I honestly do not see myself rebuilding all of this again and if I am unable to load a previous save I think this is the end of Valheim for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry you lost your base, but this is how the game works. The longer you spend at your base, the more likely you'll experience raids. It's something like every 46 minutes you'll run the risk of a visit from your friendly neighbourhood mobs. But you learn how to protect yourself from them. Dig ditches around your base area but don't build within a troll's swing of the ditch because you'll lose stuff. They work a treat to keep 90% of the raids away.

Just in case you didn't know, hitting escape to bring the game menu up properly pauses the game now so you can AFK safely.

Build an earthen wall (rise the ground up) , about double your characator size and outside of that build a moat.

To be completely honest, if this is the end of Valheim for you, it was either now or not too long after. The game is brutal alone.

I really enjoy the grind of Valheim and have played further than this but this is on a new playthrough. I dont mind dying when exploring but its the fact that my entire base and everything I worked for is now gone lol.
You can fix this by build a stronger base. I recommend pits and moats to trap enemies before they reach your base. Embrace portals and you can build an impenetrable fortress with an open door for you.

The game keep a few backups of your world and character. You just need to find one before the event and rename the file extension. There may even be a way to do it in the game.

Seriously man, not even able to pause the game when afk? I feel like you deserved it :)

Thanks for the info, I will look into it and try and fix it.

To be honest it has only happened to me ONCE and it was just a bunch of Greydwarfs spawning so I wasnt worried (or expecting it). I also had stuff in my Smelter & Kiln and wanted to come back to stuff instead of waiting; hindsight is 20/20 lol.
