They left their horse with the local riding school and took a one way trip to an tropical island. Now they work with the game like 1 hour a week or so from an laptop on an expensive yacht. We are getting stuff, but it takes time.. I belive they now promised us something like 10 building skins in 2 years or so. enjoy.????????????????????????????? devs took the money and ran. can't really blame them though

They should have hired more people and built a company. They had enough fans to warrant DLC and a sequel. They squandered their opportunity.

A common misconception perpetrated by many due to outdated, incorrect information. devs took the money and ran. can't really blame them though
The state of the game has been explained on the front page of the Valheim news thing on Steam. Screenshots indicate that they have *not* decided to take the money and run, but have been prioritizing stabilizing the game and squashing bugs due to the massive influx of new players. The terrain system being revamped on its own makes alot of the problematic lag with bigger bases much less problematic.
And Mistlands, a major update, was bumped up from next year to this year, after the Hearth and Home update.
Plus, this game made its home on itch for three years, hence the polish. They had a small but dedicated fanbase then, this is not going to be your average EA that just folds up, and even if it was, it is still worth the twenty bucks its asking.
I don´t see it that drastically as wing. But in all honesty, you whitewash the devs. They had a huge success, for month almost no info from them even though they promised 4 major updates this year and when they finally gave official info it was basically:
1. we give you a few more recipes and work benches to craft them, as well as make you grind more for food ingredients so you keep playing this game for a while
2. we have so many bugs in our game that we can´t catch up fixing all of them, so real content update (we promised 4 this year) will be postponed undefinitley
3. maybe, if at all, we add an additional biome. But we are not sure when this can be achieved and if it arrives it will be not new game content itself, just more of the same.
Right now the potential of this game is wasted. I see ugly graphics (i know, design choice, blablabla) and a very linear progression with a very simple construction system and nothing else to do than roam around to find the next boss. Once you found that boss and beat it you move on to the next biome (go find it first!) and don´t ever have to look back again as most of the material you were grinding for hours are useless now.
So yea - i doubt the devs ran with the money. But they for sure put too much on their plate and now can´t catch up with expectations. More devs in the team won´t help with that at first. Even slow down development until the devs are fully involved.

The save system fix was awesome, imo. Watch some interviews with the devs available here on the forums and you will see what they have done and what they plan. I could be wrong, but I think the devs are going to do a lot for the game in the coming months. However, with some of the demands here and the success they have had with the game, who could blame them if they did decide to take off? I mean, they're millionaires now.

I can't either. devs took the money and ran. can't really blame them though
They got the entire pot of gold that most game developers wish for.
I'd buy a ****ing horse too AND go on vacation.
(Especially if I spent 3-5 years nonstop working on the same damn thing)
I just laugh at all the niche fans who still believe in "Integrity" and "Friendship"
Bro, if you got a stack of bread you'd get a jet ski too
