Pause works on my local single player games using ESC key but NOT on my linux standalone server with only one player.

Pause only works in singleplayer and on multiplayer servers/dedicated servers when no one else is logged into the server, like already stated.

Can someone confirm whether time passes or not? Currently at work but I remember there is a little camera swing animation, but I assumed that time would stop, as in pause, while in the menu state.

But conviently doesn't say what KEY is pause ... I haven't installed it yet myself, perhaps thay added it to the main menu??

I feel trolled.... The pause function came with the caves patch that was in beta, but was released to the main branch yesterday. Whatever key or controller button used to bring you to the main menu now pauses the game for a single player, as is the way.

Ah-HA! I didn't realize they released it yesterday to the main channel. Perhaps explains some weirdness I ran into with the mouse / FOV that has totally nerf'd my gameplay.
Now I need to check my version since I'm NOT on Beta channel.

Maybe you play on a server that hasn't updated yet or you disabled auto-updates? Time now does pause, even though at least in my case the camera likes to take a gander all by itself.

If time didn't still pass how would you press the button again to unpause?

That does NOT pause the game! This is one of the most requested features for the Devs to handle.
The curret BETA has added a real pause button so it's coming soon!! :-)

Ah, so that IS pause. I wasn't sure, considering the fact that time still passes. Guess I expected a pausier kind of pause.
