Fix Haldor the Trader

Haldor the Trader is not realistic enough. Successful merchants advertise. The Black Forest should have the occasional sign: "You need it, Haldor's got it. 1400 meters that way. -->."
Don't have the cash? Haldor will extend credit to you.

Of course, it you miss a payment, Haldor will send a couple of Fuling berserkers to your base to collect.

There are ten spots Haldor can spawn and it's not until you get close to one of them he's triggered, which makes signage a bit complicated.

As for credit, most of us have gold in abundance. It's inventory that he needs before credit becomes a necessity.

TL;DR: The only fix needed right now is inventory. Better and more!

Haldor should sell ores, ingots, wood, food, etc. This would give us a reason to loot treasures after the first few hours and allow a more sandbox approach to progression.

I think OP is right, haldor should consider spam mailing us using that obnoxious crow as a messenger or something, maybe even aa laserlight show at night to draw in the crowds, i hear free booze always gets the puntersrearing to go..:steamhappy:

^This.

Finding the Trader is a letdown beyond 2 really valuable items that he sells. And they are single time purchases.

Visiting him to sell valuables for gold only increases the number of chests I have filled with gold.

We need an overhaul that provides some semblance of economy with regard to what he offers. For instance; the Megingjord and Circlet could take damage, but not be repairable. After a time, you would have to replace them. There should be many other items for sale ranging from food, to materials, to crafting ingredients. This would give spelunkers more reason to raid crypts and caves for valuables in the early game.
