I mean, games dope but you can do the math and figure out just how much money these dudes made roughly. They are living there lives, they won the lottery. I would not expect more than 1 update every 16 months or so.

The devs have already discussed this. The team makes a standard Swedish salary in line with their positions. After paying the publisher, steam(which takes a HUGE chunk of game developers revenue btw if you didnt know), taxes, lawyers, office, etc, the rest is put into the bank to pay the monthly salaries and be sustainable for the team for the future.

They also said that their feature turnaround is 6-9 months.

The update: who knows?
The full game as we were promised: NEVER EVER.

I wanted to know the same. Not due to me wanting them to rush content, but I want to know if starting a new world is worth it. New update = new map for me, so investing in a map for 2 weeks isn't really worth it.

I'm taking the info from above and assume the new patch time window will be around fall. Plenty of time to get settled in a new map. Thanks folks.

A dev said weeks ago that after they release a specific content update to the game(for example last was ice caves) that they tend to take 6-9 months with their 10 man team.

So you can guestimate from that point you've got about 6 more months or more until Mistlands will drop barring any issues.

Best advice: stop fretting over when it drops, play valheim as is, with mods or something else, and when new content comes, enjoy then. It'll happen when it happens so ground your expectations accordingly.

Patience, grasshopper. I think the game is fine the way it is. I'm having a lot of fun. That's what I care about. I have found that change for change's sake is rarely a good thing. I think the devs understand that too. They have a good thing here and they don't want to mess that up and I don't want them to. They're being careful. Before they make any changes, they want to make sure a) it works and doesn't blow up anything else in the game and b) it actually makes the game better. I can wait for that and if it doesn't happen, I'm good with that too.

I doubt they would put it on the test branch and go off to vacation.
