Oh, I'd have to run some tests. Pretty low though, most of the actual simulation happens client side and the server just passes messages about actions by other nearby players.

Data usage is reported to be high.
This is because the "host" changes to whatever player entered an area first. So the person "hosting" has to handle all the data between players.

Not sure if you play solo only though.

Even with a rented host, the data between players is still high depending on who is "hosting" the in game zone.

I wonder if the serverside simulations mod improves this?

You mean the file size? ~1GB.

You mean while playing in game practically none.

What? If not file size, under Steam OS, it's like 1.9 GiBi RAM and causes another 0.45 GiBi to be stored in swap/exchange file. Let's say about 2.5 GiBi in total (a straw!).

Maybe another 1G for a fully explored and developed world save? Ours haven't expanded much beyond 100M.
