Not at all, that's a different issue we're arguing about, you are totally fine.

Mistlands biome can only be in a zone closer to the edge of the world. Last maybe third or less? But you'll definitely have some mistlands, likely heaps of it.

so the red line is what i've sailed since i started the thread. i

i should look further to the outside of the world?

It's not necessary to start a new world unless you've already explored majority of the previously or currently incomplete biomes like mistlands.

Well sort of.

If you started your current world prior to the Mistlands update you will still find the Mistlands but...

The content drop that added the Mistlands also changed the land building algorithm a bit so to create larger Mistland land masses.

So you will be able to find the Mistlands in your current world, but they may be more a series of broken, small islands than the larger land masses you would get starting a world post content drop.

And don't forget, with just a small effort you could transfer all your high value items to a new world with your character if you so choose, so your past effort would not be lost.

You can always put your world seed through the World generator and compare between Pre and post Mistalnd versions.

But based on what you said you'll loose the fun of discovering the Mistalnds on your established world.

I have an older world myself and must say the "Tiny Islands of mistalnds" never happened ot me.

here is my OLD world seed Pre mistlands:
https://valheim-map.world/index.html?seed=DSbDytX5eY&offset=0%2C0&zoom=0.600&view=0&ver=0.207.20

And her is the same seed post mistlands: https://valheim-map.world/index.html?seed=DSbDytX5eY&offset=0%2C0&zoom=0.600&view=0&ver=0.212.7

You compare and see if the slight differences look worrying to you as I have to assume your world would change in a similar way.

is there any way of copying all the buildings and bases i've made in my current seed and paste them into an updated seed?

or is that not possible?

The PlanBuild[valheim.thunderstore.io] mod can copy and paste buildings, including saving to file so you could take it to a different world. I think, but I'm not certain, that there's a way to copy terrain as well, so that your building is stable when placed.

I've never used it to copy terrain or across worlds though, I'm pretty sure it can do what you want but I don't think I can help you beyond suggesting it.

There will absolutely be some Mistlands somewhere!

I get you want to find it yourself perhaps but if you don't wanna look up your world seed post it here and I'll give you a suggested compass direction to sail in but nothing more ;)

Your world after 200 hours will be awesome, do not reroll a new seed. The world map is massive and even if you have uncovered an island or two with Mistland biome present it will not effect the massive Mistland areas you will eventually explore. It is beyond me why people contribute so much negative misinformation on forums. The designation of Troll was wisely chosen, as they are mean, malicious and butt-ugly.

We had uncovered probably close to one half of our map, but the majority of that was around the equator. We had even discovered and explored a couple of Mistland biomes. Believe me when I say we did not even scratch the surface, and those Mistland biomes we had uncovered, still had virtually all of the Mistland creatures populating the zone. The only thing missing was Dvergr buildings & Infested Mines. One of the continents we had partially uncovered some Mistland biome, which still had a lot of Mistlands unexplored, was packed with creatures and had spawned an archipelago of Mistland islands full of Dvergr buildings and infested mines.

Unless after 200 hours of playing your seed you intentionally uncovered vast swaths of Mistland biome, I would not reroll a new seed and abandon all the work up to this point.

cheers.

You are not wasting your time.

Only areas of Mistland previously explored will not spawn the new areas and flora & Fauna if you are really looking for your first areas of that Biome all shall be well.
