Question for developers.

Can a domesticated wild boar die of starvation and what other dangers are there to which a domesticated wild boar can die. I am an animal lover and I want to take good care of the animals in the game.

I too love animals...cooked animals.

Yes build a defensive structure. They wont starve. You need to feed them and to be within rendering distance for them to reproduce. Wolf pens need to be heavily fortified or use pits you dug and try to get them inside. Wolves also tend to dissapear overnight

tamed animals cannot starve to death in valheim. but if not feed theyll stop breeding till you feed them again.

other dangers include raids and all hostile creatures that get too close to the tamed creatures.

all tames are very vulnarble to flyers. the bat raid will kill all your tames if you dont hold them in a enclosed shelter with a roof as most tames are helpless againist bats.

boars will flee from fire. so dont have open fire near them.

chickens need a fire to hatch but are prone to self immolation so make sure they cannot reach the fire (hanging braziers work great for this or haveing a fire next room behind a wall)

wolves will fight and can be told to guard an area.
lox can be mounted if you add a saddle to them.
wolves can be told to follow the player once tamed. not possible with any other tame. so keep that in mind when tameing something somewhere.
you can enable friendly fire and use the harpoon to drag tames around. be wary of thier hp tough.
tames regen hp over time when they are feed.

no tame needs open sky. unlike crops.
eggs need a heatsource to hatch in range of them. otherwise theyll stay on the floor for good till picked up.

Lox will destroy most structures so its best to pen them with earthen walls. Lox will not breed if there is a roof over them that is too close. They use the tall troll model so roofing an earthen wall won't cut it unless you also dig down a bit too. Lox will also destroy any support structure tall enough to roof them in so open pens using earthen walls are the way to go.

Why is this a "question for developers " and nit for other players?

Also, why title is "question for developers" - a completely nebulous title - instead of "can tamed animals starve?"

If you're gonna be too lazy to check the wiki at least take 12 seconds to keep the forum usable and discoverable.

If you want to protect your animal friends, be sure to pen them in a completely enclosed area. This means no access from the sky, too, as a raid could potentially spawn flying enemies that will attack your animals.
thank you
