Need desperate help with the game, and I have some questions, not sure what to do or who to ask.

Firstly, some backstory....I logged into Valheim today, and for the second time in under two weeks, my world's progress lost a lot of what I had previously built. About 20+ hours were lost two times in a row, including ships and base buildings built, but all my character's inventory, progress of ability to build, and map knowledge, including icons on map, like ore place markers remained effected (from what I can tell). For more clarification, just the in-game built structures were missing, and my cart that I had left somewhere when I started 20+ hours back (and had later moved upon the most recent time previously placed before this issue happened) was now found at the original location where I had put it all those 20 hours back, indicating that EVERYTHING I HAD BUILT OR PROGESSSED IN SINCE THEN WAS LOST. This was confirmed when i began looking around and found whole buildings, docks, smelters, fermenters, harvested inventory in chests, like ores, and built ships were gone, Everything on my character's person remained unaffected.

I have tried uploading my world from a prior save, no luck, so I have to start over where the -20 plus hours were at. And this is the second time this has happened, to the exact same -20 (some hours) backtracking. I remember the first time it happened, and i found the cart at the same place i did now the second time it has happened. :(

I have checked on a fix for this. Some on the forums here suggested that it is an issue with steam cloud not properly saving the world's progress when you exit the game. They suggested to unselect the 'save to steam cloud' (which might be the issue here, not sure). I did that, so it is now saving my progress (to my knowledge, might want some confirmation someone reading this) that the game's world and my progress is now being saved directly to my pc hard drive and not steam cloud and is now more secure from being lost...but with that being said, I do have the following concerns/questions that I would like answered. I am not very tech savvy sadly, especially with how saves work or recovering them/overriding them.

Firstly, on this world I have been having issues with, I have been doing a solo playthrough. With my game now saving to my computer directly and not via steam cloud as priorly done, how will the game's future updates from the devs work? Will things not update? If it does, will my world be affected in a negative way seeing that its not connected to steam cloud? Is there any risks of future complications or ruining of my world by having it saved straight to my pc hard drive rather than steam cloud.

Secondly, although I am playing solo currently, I do wish to play with others on occasion...some of the time I might be the host to the world myself with a few friends, while some game playthroughs I might be joining someone else who is the host to their created world on their own pc. It all depends.

Question is, with how I have unselected 'save to steam cloud' now, will that effect the possibility of me hosting games where I and a friend want to play together, where sync issues might occurr between us? For both me hosting the world, or for me to join their hosted world, will that create issues with my character or my/our worlds' progress as well?

I don't want to have these issues happen EVER again, either solo'ing or by being the host for the world with friends. I have wasted unfortunately many hours that now I am trying to rebuild upon...

Any tips or help on these matters that I have listed above would be of great help. Again, I am not really tech savvy when it comes to saves or uploading/downloading/ or overriding prior game saves of character and/or mainly worlds and their progression. I am sorry about that. I was very disheartened with what happened, but I don’t want to give up. However, I don't want it to happen again to me, or worse, happen to the world I am hosting while I am playing with friend(s).

Thanks for the helps, friends/devs (in advance)
