I just want to thank the devs :)
I just wanted to start a thread to give kudos to all our Developers, Content Creators, and all the folks that make this game absolutely awesome! You guys do an amazing job, thanks for all the hard work!

Mountain caves are cool, found 2, one was much deeper than the other. Not sure about the range. But they are not really like a dungeon crawl, similar in scope to the other dungeons in game.

Anything new? Anything that drops that allows you access to making new things? I'm avoiding it until it is released in the next update because i have several large mountain ranges within portal distance that i have avoided so far..

Totally agree, my sincere thanks to everyone who was involved in producing Valheim. For me Valheim began a gaming connection between my nephew and my son and I, and made isolation at home during COVID enjoyable. Early access to Valheim was a brilliant decision, and one I appreciate muchly.

I also want to give an extended thank you to the moderators that keep relative peace in these forums and in the official Discord channels - even to those that had previously spanked me hard. You know who you are. ;) ♥

Sorry i cant agree.
I bought the game at the beginning. There was already a roadmap with a lot of content in year 1. Now its almost a year later and we barely have any new content and the thing they redesigned to me is actually worse (stamina/food).
And the stuff im reading about is the worst thing someone can do in EA as a small DEV - why do they care so much about bugfixing or now even steamdeck ...
Just add stuff and do bugfixing later, same applies to balancing etc. - there also isnt much point in fixing all bugs if you add new stuff later that will create new bugs - we need content ...
Sorry but the development in my opinion is way too slow. So no thank you from me - i paid for a game witha roadmap - that in my opinion - barely has gotten any real updates. The game is a great base for a game - but there is way too much missing. Im really sorry but Hearth and Home in 1 years is underwhelming ....
The only reason why this game is still beeing played by most is probably the awesome mods - most better ones were done within weeks/months of release.

That's not how game development works. Fix the bugs immediately because they can cause worse things down the line.

No thats not how game development works. While in the phase of adding content you just add content. There is no point in fixing every single bug since chances are you will get new bugs later on or even new bugs because of bugfixing. Fix gamebreaking bugs? Yes - everything else - no.
And to be honest - i have quite a few hours in this game - i had no serious bug so chances are there arent many really gamebreaking bugs.
Doing a lot of bugfixing in a game that isnt even remotely feature complete is like constantly cleaning every particle of dust on a construction site ... - it just slows down progress and doesnt make much sense at that point. Chances are they will even remove some of the code that may or may not produce bugs now.

I prefer content to less bugs. Especially when its a game in development. I dont expect no bugs at this state. Also im pretty sure there is a middle ground. Also as i said i barely had any bugs even at release of this game so i dont see the issues.
But cant we at least agree that the ammount of new content since release has been pretty underwhelming? Especially looking at the original roadmap or at how fast modders can add new things?

\/\/ell, I want to thank them as well.
First PC gamer called them game of the year, and I thought about it, and I was ok with it after seeing a lot of companies fail this year.
However, the award nomination that really touched my heart was the fact they have been nominated at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, CA, which in my eyes meant the gaming industry itself looked deeply at this game and what is going on... that gave me pause because this isn't the deplorable EA, Blizzard / Activision CEO's.... this is the dev's.. the people who often work 20 hour days for weeks to bring a game to deadline and as a result I understand the magnitude of that.
This game has given me more bliss than most other games in my... well, fossils were around so let's say a long time.
Then lastly, as being part of the PTR and getting actual feedback from Dev's I will simply end on they continue to impress me, and give me happiness, so cheers all around to them.

I really do wonder if this is a problem of EA and small DEVs in general. When your EA is a success and you make probably 80% of the potential sales before you even have released the game that probably takes out a lot of the financial pressure but also a lot of the motivation?
