How to deal with existential dread?
When I first started playing stuff and I just had to deal with the basics of survival and couldn't really think about anything else, I was having a lot of fun. Now that I've got a big house and good tools, I keep finding it harder and harder to go on. I keep asking myself "what's the point of continuing to play?" and it gets harder to motivate myself to do stuff. Once I reach the end, then what? I'll have everything, done everything, built a nice house, tools, weapons, etc. but what after that? What is the point?

What´s the point after you beat any game to the end? Doesn´t matter if it is a linear game with full story line including an actual end or if you simply got everything in a survival game.
Difference is that you can get a different playtrough if you start over in Valheim again.
What do you usually do if you finish a game? I mean seriously, this post could be in the forum of a ton of games.

if your current seed has mushrooms left that you didnt find then you haven't finished anything- if there are unexplored areas left on the map then you arent much of a viking . Questing in this game is organic - you dont have to do anything really - do what you want , or dont - but do go sailing because thats what a viking does

I recommend mods. Mods fix everything. ;)

The point is to stay amused in your spare time. No game will do that forever. Once you reach the end you can start again and play 'Iron Man', Or try mods. Or try a different game until you feel like coming back. Or take piano lessons.

In all seriousness, the point is to be entertained. If you're not entertained, then there is no point and you should find different entertainment. Nothing wrong with that.
