Teleporting ores and stuff tip

There are many complains about teleporting ores/metals/eggs in the community and i agree that devs should just add some setting in the menu, but they haven't done it yet, so here are two tips for you:

Just install a mod
There's a really nice mod out there on nexus that allows some teleportation tweaks like letting enemies or your tamed animals through the portals and of course there's an option to toggle teleporting all the items. Everything mentioned above is also toggleable, so if you only want items through portals - no problem

Having two worlds
If you are like me and only wanna use what the game offers - this tip's for you!
Just create a second world, take all the ore/etc with you, don't mind being encumbered and just log out the world you are playing. Log in to the second world, drop all your stuff to the groud, log out. Log in to the original world, pass through the portal with no ores in your inv, log out, go to the world where you dropped ores... You got the idea.

I'm not pretending to be a genius with these tips here, but maybe some of the folks in need haven't come up with these ideas yet and if this thread will help at leas one person - it wasn't useless, right?

If some of you SCOUTED AHEAD, marked important locations, and then planned bases/outposts accordingly, you wouldn't have any issues with transportation of ore.

Process on site. It's when people want to rush, or be lazy and not want to build more than one base that you run into issues.

Still takes a lot of time if the ~important location~ is 30 minutes on boat away from your base. It doesn't add any sort of challenge to the game, it's just BORING.

I personally haven't used any of these tips while i was beating the game, but now, with Yagluth defeated, i see absolutely no sense spending my very only life on sailing all across the map just to deliver some iron.

Anyways, as Nefrarya mentioned, this thread is becoming a discussion of play styles, which is absolutely useless. The point was to help people in need, if you are not in need - just pass by and have a nice day

That's where portals come into play.

- Scout on foot or by boat
- Mark important locations
- Build facilities to process the materials on site.
- Build portals between the main base and the processing site.
- Process ore on site and craft it into needed items.
- Portal them through since processed goods can be.

Only long trips should be initial scouting missions imo. Our if you absolutely need the ore elsewhere. Which even do, can be done between worlds.

The problem is that the ocean is very safe, and sailing is more tedious than anything else. If the biome has more adventure and risks, the issue of sailing with the ores would be very different.

Agree. They supposedly have more planned for the ocean. When we'll see it is another matter.

Really once you get a longboat harvesting and getting your ores to your bases is only a question of time.

there is no third option regarding the post, it is for people who dont want even more time invested in the parts they already consider tedious

I don't understand this attitude. Except building and boss fights, or mini bosses like trolls and abominations, its all pretty much gathering, farming, hunting, or mining with a few less or more annoying mobs thrown in here or there.

For me part of the fun is the journey. If after the first time you did something you were able to hire Npcs to do that aspect of the game for you, you would be done with the game in 20 hours.

Hey folks,

please don't turn this into a debate over playstyles. OP gave a clear focus for this thread. It's perfectly fine if that doesn't apply to you, but you don't need to put others down for it.

Thanks & have a good day!

Hey folks,

for everyone new to modding: please remember that as of now modding is not officially supported in Valheim.

It's done at your own risk, there are no guarantees for future compatibility. Please keep backups of your save files before you start modding. If you need technical support, please always include a full list of active AND prior mods, since that can influence the game's behaviour with regard to bugs.

Have a good day!
