Usually I get him at around day 45-50. About that time you should have mined a whole copper node to equip yourself enough.

lvl 2 or 3 troll armor, Deer Stew, minced meat sauce, carrot soup, Finewood bow of any lvl, and fire arrows and I think its an easy fight.

Only "bronze" age requirement for me is the cauldron. But even then I bet if the troll armor is upgraded and the finewood bow is as well it should still be doable with deer, boar and honey.

1st playthrew take your time enjoy.but 2nd play threw and on i kinda rush to swamp so i can start building with stone

It's not a race. Some worlds, it's take me 100 days to find him- mainly because I'm in a good spot and having a great time exploring and building. Play the game at a pace that's enjoyable.

Maybe 10 minutes using a bow and fire arrows. Not difficult at all at a very low level.

There is no difficulty scaling with days, so it doesnt matter if you kill him on 50th day or on 500th day.
If you are enjoying BF and Meadows, dont rush. Swamp will be much harder.
Take your time and prepare well for the next biome.

I usually try to rush to the elder and kill him around day 15 or 30. After that I will scout out my main base location, which I try to find a decent size meadow, bordering the swamp and Black Forest. Brownie points if I can find a place with a decent size mountain biome nearby.

I think I was about 20 hours in. Go kill it. You will wonder why you didn't do so much sooner when you see how easy of a fight it is. Or at least that was my experience with every boss; aside from Eikthyr who went down in the first hour or two.

I don't mean to rush but black forest is a trap for people not willing to commit to risks. And all that stuff you've presently been enjoying will still be there when you are making iron gear and building with more materials. I spent a long time there, pushing through to try and see in this game what everyone else did, but it wasn't until the swamps that I really started to see it.

Before that I was afraid of losing my bronze weapons and tools somewhere that I couldn't get them back. Not because I couldn't make more, but I didn't want to make more. The thought of spending another minute on a dead activity like copper mining churned the stomach. Instead I spent a huge chunk of that 20 hours building up my own little one-man village, procrastinating my way out of seeing the game proper. I had worked so far into my village using just wood, that when it came time to build with stone I couldn't be bothered to retrofit it into old structures.

I just killed him on my "hardcore" character at day 36, and subsequently died to 2 wolves while mining copper (too close to mountains edge I guess).

I stopped to beat on a copper node, with a brute, a shamen and 2 or 3 regular greydwarves in tow. A two star Skeleton came from the opposite direction so I thought I'd be clever let the 2 star skelly do some of my heavy work.

He managed to kill the shaman but the brute made quick work of him so I decided to start shooting them all w/ my bow and at that moment 2 wolves came out from behind the trees, one shot everything and got me running. It was a quick death.

Thanks, I just beat it and wow I overprepared, I had 12 healing meads but never even got below 90 hp.

I had my troll armor upgraded to lvl 3 I think..no cape yet. My finewood bow was lvl 4. I had built a base below the elder platform, and the area was mostly cleared of trees as a result.

Behind most of the large stones, I dug a small pit. I just stand behind the rocks and snipe with fire arrows until he either destroys the rock or summons those lashing roots (then I Must move to another rock). Its a very easy fight, I hardly took any damage. I didn't melee at all.

I had a fine wood bow and bronze arrows. Took about 60ish to down him after about 7-8 minutes. Elder was EZ. I normally, just slightly, over-prep every boss. "Just in case I ♥♥♥♥ up" kind of thing
