A word of warning for explorers and settlers: Don't make landfall in swamps or plains. The locals are too unfriendly to get away with that. Land in a nearby Meadow or Black Forest biome and walk the rest of the way.

Honestly that's pretty great. We needed more deep water beasties.

Normally I prefer a safer biome to land as well, but literally the whole island was swamp in the middle of the sea.

Lol yeah, I had just pulled in slowly, the wind was against me and I just set her against the shore. then BOOM, right beside my ship water side the abomination popped up and blocked me in. All I could do was abandon ship.

Also I discovered the easiest way to kill an abomination, lure it over to a surtling fire spout and watch the big woody bastard burn.
