I'm sure the devs will be all over this for you, even though it comes off as a pissy rant and it's posted in the General forum instead of in a place where the devs might actually notice. But hey...spears.

I'm just starting a new playthrough with the current update. Did the developers make all enemies resistant to the Pierce damage channel? I don't understand.

No, it's just a player not enjoying spears and letting us know about it. Spears are fine for what they're intended and unless a fancy new spear arrives with future biomes/crafting, I wouldn't expect spear to be high on the list of weapons to carry around past the Meadows. It's just a sharpened stick (or maybe has a sharp rock tied to the end)--that's all it is. Perhaps a better spear will come along and the OP will rejoice.

The range of it's normal attack could be buffed just a tad. Usually I find myself missing enemies that are just barely out of reach.

I do like the special of throwing the spear as you don't have to waste time or inventory space for arrows/bow.

I guess I just assumed that the developers didn't intend players to specialize in one damage channel: that spears, swords/axes and clubs all have the appropriate time, place and enemy for their use. Upgrade costs are pretty high for that though, now that I think about it.
