Sometime between starting preparations for and defeating Bonemass, about 4 days, my Longboat disappeared. I did not build an actual dock for it, but I did have some posts sticking out of the water keep it from drifting in shallow waters. I have used this method before many times. Occasionally the boat is destroyed by storms or enemies, but I have always been able to retrieve the raw materials. This time I went out to check on my longboat because I had a new adventure in mind and it was gone with no trace of any materials. Has that happened to anyone else? What do you think could have happened to the Iron nails, Ancient Bark, etc.? As I said the water where it was docked is not deep.
I am starting to think that longboats are not worth the trouble. I am playing solo. I need to strip down to carry the heavy materials to shore and am invariably attacked, sometimes by a Troll. And then when pulling to shore in a new place it is very easy to get stuck between rocks and it can take all day to get unstuck. I think I will go back to Karves which are more manuverable.
