Enough with the Mists and Stamina

3 buddies I play with have rage quit over the mistlands and lousy stamina system. I guess I will have to jump on the mod bandwagon to allow me to see more in the mists and slow down the stamina degradation and increase regeneration even though I don't want to. The other option is to put the game away until the devs come to their senses and add options to control the difficulty.

Yeah? Since when this waste of bytes is an "attempt to be helpful"?

Remarks like this don't deserve any sort of assistance IMO but I guess I can still point out that they've already stated that they are looking into some world difficulty settings.

Legit concern for the game and constructive attitude: Seek and receive assistance from community.

Massive outbursts of entitlement and nerd rage: Go do something else with your life.

Your choice.

From team mistlands to team anti-mistlands: what specific changes to stam management would you like to see that would make the biome enjoyable for you?

I swear to G-d, this community is straight up unhinged. Dude came to Discussions with legit complaint about outdated mechanics which were relevant BEFORE Mistlands, got no rework in Mistlands update, and now it just taints player's experience. Locals filled the thread with timeless classic mantras on how to handle Mistlands. I freaking love how ignorant peeps are.

He has a complaint. People have made suggestions and detailed how they handle the Mistlands area.

That's not ignorance, that's folks attempting to be helpful. Not one of these coments say "git gud".

What response would you like? A plethora of people chiming in with "me too" and actually offering nothing of use to anyone? THAT is ignorance.

You can build wisp torches, to light up the way, to avoid ambushes. Learn how to block arachno attacks and certainly make feather cape as ppl mentioned above.

The feather cape changes that whole dynamic to be fair, once I made mine (x2 for retrieving stuff if needed) You can travel the length and breadth of the biome and never go down into the valleys unless you want to. It also makes escaping pursuit easy, just climb and jump away, land and rinse repeat as necessary.

The Mistlands suddenly became my favourite place, even to a point where I build scaffolds up to high places to build portals so I can just jump off a glide down whenever I want.

Bring a lot of wood... build bridges, ladders, wooden stairs, platforms. I was at the point of quitting too... but once you learn the fights and find some flat land, it's much easier.

Thanks, I understand that, but the Mistlands just aren't fun to play as they are now. The fights I can handle, the quick loss of stamina I am growing increasing tired of as well as frustrated.

I think that devs' expectation is that by the time you reach mistlands, your jump and run skills are where they need to be. You really are jumping higher and it really costs you less stam at skill levels that are appropriate for mistlands. The biome is significantly more fun as well as easier, the more you hone those skills.

Another approach would be to get the minimum required amount of rare items needed to build new crafting stations and make the most fun non-weapon item currently in the game. It brings so much fun that mistlands now feels superior to every other biome (for me anyway). It may take a lot of time to collect what is needed and it will not help clear the mist away, but if the player perseveres, the reward is very sweet. :-)

Like the Swamp, Mistlands, you need to regularly stop and listen for the sounds of something nearby. Like the mountains, you watch your stamina for jumping.

I tend go in with 1 HP (Misthare Supreme) and 2 Stamina (Omelet & Salad) and some potions for "just in case". Jump up a couple of places, pause, listen, jump a few more times.

Rinse, lather, repeat. Don't be in a hurry. :steamhappy:
