Early on I didn't notice I was completely out of food and died to a greydwarf shaman poisoning me. XD

I also misjudged a long swim distance once and drowned at the other shore. Literally probably a second or two before I would be out of the water. It was to a swamp island thats hard to reach by boat, so I still haven't recovered that grave marker. I just rebuilt all of my gear lol.

Building without scaffolding, fell down, was at 1 hp and heading to the berry bushes to snack on some and a greydwarf 360 noscopes me with a rock.

I was fighting bonemsass , he spawn on a tree. Problem I dont that he can spawn long story short. My Food run out and he jump straight on my Head. He literally jumpscare me to death

Just about every single one of my deaths could have been avoided. They're all ignoble. Way too many to list.

Tree I was cutting fell on my head.

Running around in the mountains, turned a corner and ran straight into a golem. He starts to swing. I fail my block. I go sailing off the edge of the mountain. I take damage when I land on the edge of a cliff. Bounced off that edge. Drank a healing mead. Next bounce still killed me.

At least it was easy to recover my grave marker.

I got killed by a mosquito.
I also got killed by a starred tick.

Let's see, I've died by stupid things so many times, I'm not sure where to start. Tree fell on me, tree rolled over me, backed off a cliff, and I have drowned thinking I could reach an island. Then there was the time I thought I was safe from a Troll behind a wall - a new lesson learned. Smoke and fire - more lessons learned. And I've even been killed by a boar....... LOL Most of these death where more at the beginning of my play through. I haven't died lately, so maybe I've learned a few things.

Yeah the whole using the quick way down from my midgame build after having neglected to keep an eye on my food and being completely down at basic 25 health leading to a very quick death. Several times. On the same build. ><

I think the deaths in combat in Valheim are generally painful, because they nearly always involve running out of stamina getting blocked in by terrain obstacles and having mobs wail on you until that juicy health bar is gone. The point being, you have at least a few seconds where you know it's coming, and you know you don't have the time left to engineer a solution. It really is like that meme: 'It was at that moment, he knew, he'd F'd up.'

The game almost seems to detect when you're being careless with your health/stamina upkeep and choose precisely those moments to overwhelm you.

Aside from several building related deaths, one stands out above all others and I do not even know what killed me.

I had ran straight into a swamp ring that had three spawn piles in it. Tried to nope out of the there and ended up dragging some draugher archers straight through a rising abomination. Struggled up the slope into the black forest and met a tree trunk swinging one star troll. Rolled to the side and ran for a second to get clear. I turned around, and like an idiot stood there watching the awesomeness of a troll and abomination go at each other. And then I died.

Still have no idea what got me but I assume it was a starred archer.

building a tower, no food, dismantled the wrong piece and i fell, to my death, on top of my gold pile at the bottom. Fitting end for a greedy viking.

Mauled by a *seeker while backed into a corner of my own making, because I mistimed every single parry and blow. It was like I'd forgotten how to use my own hands.

Stupidest death probably fall damage on an empty stomach into accidentally touching a camp fire, but oddly I don't really remember those kinds of deaths.

I died recently by drowning. I cut down a tree that fell into the ocean. So I jumped in to the water and tried to push the log back to the shore. Then gang of 3 greydwarves spawned, all of them jumped in to the water to me right away joining the bath and as they tried to reach me, swimming towards me they would push the log together with me from the other side away from the shore. RIP

Of all the ways I died in Valheim the one that stands out is this. It involved 1) high jumping skill and 2) not paying attention to my health bar while building a tall structure in my base without proper scaffolding. Misjudged one jump (too high and too long) and died...
Silver lining is that at least recovering my corpse was easy enough.
