Unfortunately this isn't possible at the moment. Once on a server you have complete access to every building. Including the ability to destroy it. I opened up my server once and some guy logged in, destroyed everything, then left ignorant messages gloating about his griefing.

I think there is a huge missunderstanding here. Valheim is not a game like ark or conan exiles.
It is a coop multiplayer game whitout the base anti pvp or grief mechanics.

Thats why official servers never would work in the first place.

So to play it online you need people you can trust and who trust you. Thats why you wont find servers whitout a password

We do have the option to make public server without password....
Just dont enter anything in the password field when starting server.

Some people play without password but most of those are modded.
And without knowing which mods the server use, you have no way of joining.

As mentioned above, it is better to post in looking for group and make friend with whom to play.

It's why they don't want them their to begin with, not just because der they wanna play alone. He mentioned that the main reason is because of griefing ffs. So yah you got a public server with randoms joining u need mods to prevent bs...or ya know you can just deal with it and cry or not play public, its your choice. I said here's how that's solved mostly, and you come back like it's an expectation, lmfao ok so get bent and play by yourself. Pretty sure no one wants to play with you anyway. LMFAO u already can have a non password protected public server...

Post to the looking for group forum here or on discord. Either proclaim your availability or find one of the many offering theirs. You don't just hop into someones random session or private server.

Or start a sever with a world named : PWis12345 and wait for the grief, or whatever.

better yet APWis12345 , so it appears at the top of the list.

Make friends. Profit. As there is no anti-cheat this is a game it should only be played with people you trust. Anyone unaware enough to make a server password public has been griefed and had their server ruined in short order by trolls who like to ruin things for others. So you can thank a few jerks for ruining things.

No one wants random people coming in.

- Picking up all the spare tools, resources etc (and then potentially logging off)
- Proceed to dismantle the main base
- Dig random holes or 'cause land damage not easily repaired (adding long term lag)
- Wasting resources and dying with freshly crafting server-current-best and being unable to reacquire the items (water deaths, edge of world etc).

You are 100% better off attempting to form a group, join a guild, or if blessed with actual friends into gaming... sucker them into playing as well!
