Well...bloodbags...

Well , now this annoying material is a top one :
Black soup : top swamp hp food with sausages
Medium healing pots
Anti freeze me/ad
Blood pudding : now the top stamina food of the game

Its still a way to farm them ? I watch a old way that its just making a path in a swamp shore with the hoe ,then the leeches will follow you like hungry pigeons

Best way i found to farm them is at night with a helmet that allows you to see at night (from merchant) + poision resistance.

Just run araund the coast and you should hear them quite easy.
You can also farm chains on the way.

Its a good idea to have upgraded iron armor at minimum when doing this.

Anyone find it weird that you can't surprise leeches?

10 bags makes 1 round of healing mead and a couple of puddings. If he wants to use those consumables in bulk, its going to take large amounts. I go through a fair bit... just a walk through the water in a minor swamp got me 20, almost 1/min or more. The trouble is that pudding takes thistle, which is slow farming.

I put a house down in the water in the swamp, surrounded it with spikes, walled in the perimeter and went afk in the house for a few mins.

Came back to broken spikes but also 20~30 bloodbags.

Just make sure it's open to the ocean, and walled in and torched up properly against other unwanted mobs.

Some seeds have bad thistle clusters. Some have excellent thistle clusters.
Make sure your seed is good!

I have a few stacks I most definetly won't need for a while.

Since my house is on a border of several biomes, inluding Swamps, I get a lot of loot each ingame day.
I mostly just idle in the game during work, to observe the mayhem and store the spoils afterwards. I've already sent you a friend request, poke me when you have time and I'll hop on, it should solve immediate issues for you.

Thanks but i manage it well alone haha , just i was asking if there can be a way to "call them " because devs changed their behaviour , leechs are silent now so one cant notice them easily in the night if you are jumping around , so looks like the best way is just walking close to the shore

I just jump around the waters until I have few on me, turn, swing a few times, they all die, repeat.

Can get tons in no time at all.

nah if you make pathway and close up waterways where they can otherwise move it sounds like a very inefficient farm.

Swamp coasts are definitely the best. There so many leeches and ther loleasy to farm compared to back then in bronze/iron armor. I just smash them with frostner and couldn't care less if they bite me. You also get entrails for sausages so yeah, i really have my eyes on swamp again also for the iron that is always in short supply.

Not quite the "watch netflix while farming" ppl always seem to be after tho.

sort of. just make a line across the coast with a hoe and a couple of holes for a lack of better term and shoot them with a bow if you don't have an iron mace otherwise just swing at them.

Use a Stagbreaker.

The shockwave hurts them in the water without you being endangered. It also doubles as a great way to keep the Blobs away from you. Stagbreaker is great really, you don't even need the Sledgehammer until much later on anyway.

There is no shortage of leeches... they may be the #1 easiest animal to farm in the wild.
I think they nerfed the leech and blob toxins. I take almost 0 damage from them now, so jumping right on in has been working great for me. (maxed gear, though, don't do this if you just got to swamp).

use things wisely. blood pudding is good, but onion soup and bread are fine for stam foods (eg fishing, busting rocks/chopping wood/running around) and are available in infinite amounts if you farm. Maybe black soup is not ideal to make a lot of once you have more recipes? I haven't tried a low health tough fight setup though, if going for that, its another story what to pick.

For what do you need that many ?
10-20 Bloodbags are more than enough until you have onions and later Bread
