Do I need to start over my world to get the latest regions?

As OP-line says, I have a world from the first week of the EA. I did check it in the world-scout tool that it had all the boss-spawners of the time, since that was a known bug.

Since then I have mostly been playing on another server, but have come back to shill and build my mansions and stuff in the starting world. But now that new sections is coming, is there a risk that my old world don't have the spawners for the bosses or things for the new sections once they come?

But the devs aren't historical vikings, they are modern day Swedes

As programmers they probably do most of their thinking in abstract length units and powers of two anyway, there's just that single decision to make about what one unit maps onto in the real world for artist reference. Looking at the models, that does seem to be about one favn for a typical build piece / standing human.

I don't know why a bunch of Swedes would use yards though, Sweden uses the metric system

You know what, it probably is yards. That would make our vikings about 6' tall rather than 200 plus cm.

I doubt the radius is 5km, that sounds a bit much. That's like a quarter of the whole map.

Yeah it is 500 meter or yards or whatever unit of measurement they use.

Alright, in the starting world I just spent time around the start-area and touched into the near other areas basically, so that is fine.

Yeah, for the H&H update, only plains areas you explored would not spawn tar pits but as you only peeked into the game it should pose no issue.
Be careful in the Swamp a new horror has been added and its a bundle of 'fun' :P

This is quite right. Abominations will still spawn in already explored swamps.

Depends.

Monsters, like abomination will appear. However new things, like onion seeds and tar pits for example, will not appear 5km (I think) of explored areas.

I don't know how true this will hold out for future content, especially full biomes.
