No, there is no 'Mage' class or any form of 'spell casting'.

House building = yes, mage = no. There are no classes, and you can not cast spells.

There is one mage class, but it spends it time hurling fireballs at you rather than visa versa.

Given that the mechanics are in the game though, it could mean someone could mod magic in for the player maybe?

I've seen mods that have classes and magic. Haven't tried them personally.

As a player you can eventually craft a few enchanted items, you can make meads which are essentially potions, you can use enchanted arrows, and defeating bosses will grant you with special powers you can activate.

Several enemies wield magic powers including heal , poison , and fireballs. All bosses use a form of magic.

and of course you can make fire, whats more magical than that

There is a rather advanced building mechanic in this game. But there isn't really anything about magic or even classes.

A big part of this game is building a nice home for yourself, where you can cook good food and get warm and cozy by the fire.

The better your living conditions, the more health and stamina you will have, which makes house building essential to progression.
