Once you have debugmode activated, you need to press the 'B' key to activate free placement mode. Not only does it allow you to build without materials, but it also gives you temporary access to all buildable items in the hammer tool and crafting stations (in fact, you don't even need to use the stations to craft or repair inventory items while in free placement mode).

Press 'B' again to deactivate free placement mode.

I was doing some building yesterday and the "B" command has been changed, you now need to type the word nocost in the command line, after you type in debugmode. Also, if you want to use flying command, it has been changed from typing the letter Z to now having to type the word fly .

I don't have to do that.

I still use "B" for no cost, and "Z" for flying. Maybe you're doing something different?

Edit: Could be a mod interfering with keypresses. Happens lately.

OK, I am using some mods.

Yeah, I had that with a mod that changes graphics settings. I was wondering why I couldn't do screenshots anymore, and found out it was the mod. Just got rid of the lot. Playing mostly vanilla anyway.

The only mod I can really recommend right now is Plant Everything.

once you get debugmode into no cost mode the Hammer Furniture menu will add the 3 Yuleklapp presents, Yule Tree , Jack-o-turnip, and Maypole and you will be able to place them.
