Is there a mod that slightly reduces materials needed for building/crafting?
Nothing super reduction..but a bit less for solo.

Instead of reducing requirements for crafting, you could use mods to increase yields from mining, woodcutting, farming, cooking etc. Search for mods made by smoothbrain, they are amazing. They add additional skills and increase in those skills will help a lot.
For example:
Lumberjacking
Replaces the wood cutting skill with a Lumberjacking skill. Increases damage dealt to trees and item yield from trees, reduces damage taken from falling trees. Also increases movement speed in forests.
Farming
Adds a skill that makes crops grow faster and increases item yield for harvesting crops.
Starting at skill level 20, you can plant and harvest multiple crops at the same time. You can toggle this with a hotkey (default: Left Shift).
Starting at skill level 30, you can see the progress of planted crops.
Starting at skill level 50, it removes the biome requirement for crops you plant.
Also adds a hotkey you can press, to toggle snapping of crops (default: Left CTRL).
Also reduces stamina usage while planting crops by 1% per skill level.
Mining
Adds a mining skill that increases damage dealt while mining and item yield from ore deposits.
Starting at skill level 50, there is a tiny chance that hitting an ore deposit will make it explode. There is a shortcut (default: CTRL + T) to toggle this on and off.
+ rep. I currently use the mining mod and have used Lumberjack, Farming, Foraging mod in the past. I highly recommend it. ^.^

Try thunderstore and their R2modman mod manager.
It is super easy to use it and install mods.

Well in that case you will have to check some other mods because it looks like Smoothbrain didn’t upload his mods to Nexus.
You can download zip files from thunderstore too if you prefer to do it that way.

There is a new mode they are thinking of implementing at some point called ''Hammer Mode'' where you can build whatever you want for free, as well as difficulty settings. Sooner or later (whenever it gets announced) you won't even need a mod.

That's not what he's asking for though, he said nothing extreme, just minor reduction in some material costs, which i understand, as building with stone can take an absurd amount of it, along with time. There was a slider however that increases drop rate, but i imagine that affects everything, so not sure if that's what he's looking for either specifically, but probably will be the best.

I'm fully aware of what was asked, I thought I'd throw that in there anyway in case op didn't know yet. I never suggested a mod as I don't feel the need to use them myself. If I were to mention extreme, I would have mentioned a mod/ and or devcommands or something. That's not what he's asking for though, he said nothing extreme, just minor reduction in some material costs, which i understand, as building with stone can take an absurd amount of it, along with time. Fair enough, though the drop rate slider is probably the closest solution to his problem regarding the difficulty settings. Though there are a good amount of extreme mods, but as sarteck mentioned, there are mods were you can do the slight adjustments that OP's asking for.I'm fully aware of what was asked, I thought I'd throw that in there anyway in case op didn't know yet. Most mods that affect that sort of thing are an "all or nothing" deal. However, there are several that let you set the amount yourself (WackysDatabase is quite useful in that respect). Still, it would require you to manually set the resource costs for each item.
Maybe someone can point you to another mod that does what you're looking for, but if not, an alternative would be for you to just occasionally spawn things in without a mod, since you're playing solo. Like maybe, "Hey, I'm crafting stuff that'll take me 200 Finewood altogether, maybe I'll spawn in about 100 pieces."
