My base by the sea is protected by nothing but ** wolves. No walls, no fences, no moat. They take down trolls and everything else in a hurry, but the secret is numbers. If you don't have starred wolves, then you need more numbers, but two star wolves and boars are totally worth the extra time and patience.

This might work actually (I'm new to the game, this is my first try at buidling fortifications), most ennemies get confused by this and standing on the high ground part get them gather and get stuck in the mud below:

That's why I don't bother with wolves, they're too hard to get (for me) and they're killed too quickly.

Lox on the other hand...

Lox are pretty much the only animals I bother to tame. They're worth the hassle.

Build a covered pen for your boars and wolves to protect them from drakes and bats, build a moat or a earthen fence around your base to avoid ground raids.

The raid events happen randomly. Drawing the trolls away from your base is the easiest way to deal with them, though.

You always need to draw trolls away from your house. Doesn't help you with bats and drakes, though.

Never had a raid at one of my farms and never will, unless they change the raid event trigger mechanics.

im pretty sure its all RNG .. build a dry moat , and enclosed building for breeding .. Trolls ground pounded my first wolves.. Also archery skill can help deal w Trolls.. lure them away but not outta red circle GL
